Our New 2027 WRC Rally 1 Cars

The chassis/safety cell

Our cars are to be built around a Safety Cell that is supplied by the FIA to all WRC27 Constructors. The 2027 FIA Safety Cell does have more interior space and further strengthening by comparison to today’s (2025-6) Rally 1 cars, and has certified compliance as part of the FIA arrangement.

Because the 2027 rules are based very much around the current Rally 2 cars, we have taken this into account by designing our cars to suit more than one Rally 2 parts manufacturer, because a combination of Rally 2 components is allowed. The utilisation of Rally 2 componentry guarantees reliability due to the extensive use and testing of all of these parts over many years.

This means that the area of chassis both in front of and behind the Safety Cell has been designed to allow the fitment of more than one Rally 2 engine, transmission and driveline configuration. As a component of the 2027 rules, the original layout of a centrally or front mounted engine and transmission must be retained.

Mechanical

The current crop of Rally 2 cars are forming the base of the new Rally 1 cars, and so all of the technology, parts supply and ingenuity that has been learnt over recent years can be utilised to great effect. Essentially, the utilisation of Rally 2 componentry throughout all the cars in 2027 makes this part of the equation very simple.

Across our three factories in Europe, we are diligently building WRC and Appendix K cars, further reinforcing our practical expertise and commitment to high-level motorsport engineering.

Bodywork

We are able to design and build any body shape from the current or past era’s, and this means that we can make a Rally 1 car look and feel like virtually any car that has been built in the past, or is being currently produced in 2027. The actual size of the car’s bodywork can vary according to design, and the scaling of the various body parts will ensure that the entire bodywork will be to scale, should some size re-working be required to ensure fitment to the Safety Cell. The freedoms that exist with the bodywork allow us to be very creative with the cars that we produce, which will add a lot to the appeal of Rallying as a sport, as well as meaning that manufacturers to could use different body designs to suit their differing global markets throughout the year.

Additionally, and as a real bonus, the new 2027 rules allow us to produce and install a larger rear wing than the items currently seen on Rally 2 cars, and once again, this will enhance the appeal of our cars with the Rallying public greatly.

Women’s Rally Series

As a part of our substantial commitment to the wonderful and amazing sport of Rallying in 2027, we are partnering with another company that is running a very interesting Road to the WRC Challenge in 2027. The company known as the Women’s Race Series is looking for women that are aspiring to make their dreams reality by using their skills and talents to build a Motorsport career, in a similar way that certain great ladies are currently doing within the F1 Academy. Using their team expertise as well as their knowledge and support, they are now giving a small number of Ladies the chance to shine in a unique one – make all female series designed just aspiring female drivers – that will take you from an amateur in a competitive environment right through to driving a R2 Competition Car in Europe at the very top level, in just 3 years. The car that you will drive in the Women’s Race Series is identical to all of the others in the 2027 Road to the WRC Challenge, and you will be able to swap cars from event to event if you wish, to ensure parity of the cars.

Their Competition promotes the concept of excelling at every level of this great Challenge, in each event of each year using your skills, and our expertise.

An entry into each rally at each level of their programme will be heavily subsidised by the Women’s Race Series, as you may not be able to participate at this level without this kind of specialist assistance. Whilst the assistance is not at the level of the W-Series as it was, the following lists what we are including:

  • 1 of 10 Specially built Competition Cars, ready to drive in the 2027 Women’s Race Series.
  • All Competition Tyres arranged for each event.
  • All Fuel arranged for each event.
  • All parts arranged for each event.
  • A full team of expert Technicians arranged to look after your car.
  • A Co-Driver to read the Pacenotes to you, for Rally events.
  • All accommodation can also be arranged for you and your Technicians during the event, and during Pacenoting.
  • Full driver assistance and on-event training during and prior to each event.

Opportunities With Us in Rallying

There are several ways in which you can work with us at the World Rally Institute. Here are just some of the ways that you can join in and travel with us wherever we go:

1.) As a Driver in 6 events in the 2027 World Rally Championship

2.) As a Co-Driver in 6 events in the 2027 World Rally Championship

3.) As a Service Crew technician

Should you choose to join us as a Service Technician, you will be exposed to some of the most advanced motorsport technology in the world today. Our current rally cars, as well as the ones to come in 2027, are new and are very efficient in terms of grip levels and traction, and so you will be able to see how it all works, as well as contribute significantly to the team’s outcome. The Service Crew is a vital part of the entire team, and as a technician, you would have a hand in building and running our rally cars whilst we visit various countries. You will be supplied with team clothing and a team pass if your application is mutually accepted, and from there the fun begins. We do only require experienced motor vehicle technicians that have the desire to learn more and to grow in a team atmosphere.

4.) As a Caterer

Our World Rally Institute is running a significant number of rally cars from 2027 onwards, and so we will have many hungry mouths to feed. If you have catering expertise, and would like to travel as part of our team as a person wishing to extend yourself, then you may well fit into the team. As we progress through the year, there will be a significant amount of travel involved and please be prepared for this, along with a fair number of weekends away from home if you are considering joining us.

5.) As a Refueller

Our team also has positions for people wishing to join us in refuelling all of the rally cars. This is quite a technical position, as we only put a certain amount of fuel into the rally car fuel tanks, at certain times. As a result, whilst no prior experience is necessary, you should have a desire to act as part of our team, and be able to liaise with the drivers, co-drivers and head Team Managers quickly.

6.) As a Media Assistant

If you come from a media, marketing or public relations background you might like to join us on our travels. We have an active media profile, and this needs to be sustained during rally events, when we are away taking part in major rallies. If you like the idea of travelling and working with a motorsport team, then please apply. You would learn a lot in this fast-moving environment, and we are keen to take on enthusiastic, motivated team players.

7.) As a Logistics Specialist

If you have expertise in moving people, cars, trucks, parts, tyres, food and drink rapidly from country to country, we may have a place for you on our team. If you would like to travel, love motorsport, and in particular rallying, please consider applying to join us. We are looking for self-motivated successful team players.

    Skill Under Adrenaline Rush

Due to a rapidly increasing demand for our Appendix K and other Classic Rally Car builds, we have surrendered to the pressure, and are now moving forward with our new Classic World Rally Championship. We found that following the new 2025 FIA rule changes that allowed Rally Cars up to and including 1999 to be built and competed with, that we have been inundated with car builds, as well as the expressed desire to compete in a Championship that is larger than just the United Kingdom or certain parts of Europe.
We are now in the process of communicating with event organisers and promoters, as well as utilising our own in-house promotion of the exciting new development.
